CARRARA AND ITS QUARRIES
The most important city in the world for the extraction and processing of the famous Carrara marble, a much prized white marble, which is extracted in the Apuan Alps above the town. Carrara is linked to the marble extraction process since Roman times and since then to date, marble is used for the realization of the most beautiful works of art in history.
It worth a visit the old center where among the historical monuments of the city to visit stand out: the cathedral of St. Andrea, Alberica Square and the Academy of Fine Arts.

THE APUANE, the mountains of the moon
A wonderful territory, rich in paths, via ferratas (the one on Monte Procinto, opened in 1893, is the oldest in Italy), climbing routes and karst cavities, refuges, bivouacs and huts. Furthermore, in the mountain range there are several stages of the Sentiero Italia.
Hikers will also be able to enjoy the numerous ancient routes and paths including the Via Vandelli and the Via del Volto Santo.

Pisa World Heritage Site
The bell tower of Santa Maria, known as “the leaning tower or “tower of Pisa” is one of the most famous Italian monuments in the world, dating back to the twelfth century, 56 meters high, acquired its characteristic tilt ten years after the beginning of his construction.
Among the many squares and historic buildings to see in Pisa, stands the Piazza dei Cavalieri with the Palace of the Caravan, currently home to the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore and among the churches, Santa Maria della Spina, considered one of the masterpieces of Italian Gothic.
LUCCA and its hundred churches
Famous for its historical monuments, it is one of the most famous cities of art in Italy. Famous for its 16th-17th century city walls, it preserves an intact monumental historical center: towers, Renaissance palaces and numerous medieval churches, nicknamed for the latter the city of a hundred churches.
FLORENCE IS THE RENAISSANCE
